Limespring School is based in lovely new purpose-designed premises next to Cherry Tree woods and park and directly opposite East Finchley underground station in North London: the first school of its type for children in this part of London. The school is for children in the junior age group – year's 3 to 6, ages 7 to 11. The school provides a personalised approach that supports the development of a child's learning and social competence in a warm, positive, stress-free environment. This is achieved by maintaining a small school in which everyone is well known and with a maximum class group size of eight, with only four classes. Our focus is on the individual strengths and learning needs of each child. Programmes of work are tailored to ensure that children thrive in school and are able to develop the skills and awareness of their own approaches to learning enabling them to confidently move into the next phase of their education. The school provides a safe and nurturing environment in which learning is fun. Differences in ability and personal attributes are acknowledged with children encouraged to understand, and support, each other's needs. Our focus is on including all children within a mainstream educational environment; providing specific support where it will have a positive impact and in building self esteem. We recognise parents and carers are stretched in the morning school run particularly when there is more than one child of school age, in different schools. As such, the school is open from 8.00 am every morning for breakfast club, until 4.30 pm providing opportunities for children to take part in a range of additional activities including a homework club; reading club; games; and music, providing support for busy parents and carers.
